TV and movie producer Martin Ransohoff, 90, died at his home in Bel-Air on Dec. 13. Ransohoff and  Ed Kasper founded Filmways in 1952; the company went on to produce both films (The Cincinnati Kid, Ice Station Zebra, Save the Tiger, Silver Streak, Jagged Edge) and delightfully lightweight TV shows (Mister Ed, The Addams Family, The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres—“zis has been a Filmvays Presentation, dahling”—and Petticoat Junction). Ransohoff discovered and promoted Sharon Tate, casting her in his sitcoms and in the films Eye of the Devil, The Fearless Vampire Killers and Don’t Make Waves, as well as the 1967 short All Eyes on Sharon Tate.—Eve Golden
