Actress Carol Vogel—who was spotlighted as a coming star in a 1963 TV documentary—was found dead on Nov. 25 in a dirt field in Joshua Tree, California. She was 75. No autopsy results have yet been released; she was reported missing several days earlier, and was found not far from her disabled truck. “There were no obvious signs of trauma or foul play,” said Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Cynthia Bachman. Vogel was seen as a hopeful starlet in a 1963 episode of Hollywood and the Stars, and went on to appear in both films (Depraved!, The Ghastly Ones, Hi, Mom!, Joshua’s World) and on TV (Bonanza, The F.B.I., Gunsmoke, The Rockford Files, Hawaii Five-O, Wonder Woman, Hotel, Newhart) before leaving the business in the late 1980s. She was married (from 1979-84) to actor Jared Martin. In 2012, Vogel hit the news when she found her friend, actor Richard Lynch, dead in his Palm Springs home. —Eve Golden
